Getting Smarter about Amazing Animal Migrations

This week we will be getting to know the astonishing journeys that many animals take over the course of a year. Hummingbirds, butterflies, and whales all make lengthy trips from one hemisphere to another.  How do they know where to go? How do they find their way? How do they decide when to leave?

And wait a minute!  How about plants?  They don't migrate (except by seeds getting moved around) but what role to they play in animal migrations?  How do they change throughout the year?

To get started we are going to look at the plants and animals on this website.  Go ahead and look around there now.  As you explore, use this form to share what you are learning and wondering.  That's right, for now we are going to focus on the animals.  We will look at the plants later on.  Enjoy!
